James Birge has served as president of MCLA since the Spring 2016 semester, overseeing diversity, inclusion and college climate initiatives for an entire year before his official inauguration, which will take place Friday at 2 p.m. in the Eleanor Furst Roberts Auditorium in the Church Street Center.
In an interview with The Beacon earlier this semester, Birge revealed his inauguration was planned purposefully close to events like the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), the last Green Living Seminar and SAC’s Spring Fest in hopes of using his inauguration to advertise the college to the surrounding community.
